Chinese Medicine

So I have been swollen, most of my body, for weeks now. I can't take it anymore and the joint pain is ridiculous. I know I am flaring but my megga doses of mezavant, suppositories and enemas is keeping the blood away.

So today I tried something new. I went for a consultation with a woman who practices chinese medicine up the road. After the consultation, I had my first treatment which was acupuncture, cupping and massage. I might even feel better. I am not sure. The experience was pleasant and I am hopeful that it will help with some of my symptoms. I will go back again next week.

Has anyone tried this?

  1. Hi ya, do you take any supplements like magnesium, Vit B, Zinc? I stumbled on these in april and so far, along with my probiotics, they seem to be keeping the inflammation at bay. It's taken me 18mths to get to this stage and believe me there has been times when I wanted to throw the towel in, but somehow I have stumbled on a combination that is helping me get of the preds. I gave up on the SCD diet as it really wasn't working for me, but have dropped as much refined sugar and fat as possible. Don't give up, keep trying and you'll get a combination too that gets you into remission :D ... as soon as I get home I'm going to also try acupuncture along with hypnosis :D

  2. Hey! I take vit D, Calcium, and a multivitamin. I also take VSL 3 (probiotic) and just this week I started to take Wheat grass. I have my fingers crossed. So far I have avoided going back on pred but I have had a few days where I actually considered it seriously. I am so tired of feeling like this!

How much of these supplements do you take?

  3. Take a look at magnesium & Vit B too.. they seem to reduce inflammation. I've been taking one of each as per the dosage each day, along with Zinc, calcium, cod liver oil capsules, probiotics and my Salazopurin UC tablets..I am now down to 10mg Pred and reducing 5mg per week...this is the lowest I have ever gotten in the last 18 months without blood. I have wheat grass tablets too, but I'm holding off on those or another month or so..I want o see how my current combination is going....I also use a enema if I think the mucus is getting worse..usually around the time of my period....the things we have to endure with this disease....keep trying..honestly I was so close to giving up and then I got a break through....

  4. I found acupuncture certainly relieved a lot of my symptoms, it was a long time ago. It was (strangely)relaxing and I felt a lot less stressed.

Good luck, and don't give up.
